Who I'm loving these days

Cesar Millan.
The Dog Whisperer inspires me. He whispered to my heart in February's issue of Elle magazine. There's a great article about motivation, change, and love. His love for his wife, Ilusion, was a work in progress and their story gives an honest portrayal of the work it takes to make a marriage last. From being driven in work and his love for animals, to learning how to overcome his cultural machoism and gain a respect for women, Cesar's life journey is a great example of the things that hard work can bring. I'm proud to have you as a fellow American citizen Mr. Millan.
Lady Gaga.
Yes, she's the girl slightly too freaky to appeal to everyone, and the cliche' love of all gays these days. I mean look at her outfits, over-the-top make-up, and all those jazzy props! Her style definitely appeals to my "I wear a get-up instead of an outfit" approach to fashion. But it's really her music I love. She comes on the radio and I can't help but dance.

Ok lovers, here's a quick update on my life. I am loving San Diego. The weather is usually great, I have been going to the beach once a week, same with Balboa Park (it's so beautiful there), i have some seriously great friends here, my brother Daniel lives nearby, I have a piano now (but I guess that could happen anywhere), and did I mention the ocean and beach are magnificent?

I'm living in a cute apartment with my two friends, Bon and Jessica, they make life great! Even when they're annoying, having them around makes me feel all that more at home. We have lots of fun adventures from doing our taxes, making them watch me do ballet in the living room and kitchen, Bon not being able to wear pants or a shirt in the house, Jessica's crazy lizard thingy, roommate dinners, me and Jessica watching episode after episode of Will and Grace or really good foreign films - we've learned how to react when we become beautiful, strong Italian women and our husband cheats on us with an 18 year old.

So you may or may not have heard that Michael and I broke up. Sad! Anyway, we just decided it was best for the both of us in the long run. Anyway, after over a year of dating, you should know whether or not your going to be a good fit for a the long haul. So here are some reasons I loved Michael (I obviously still do, but I'm talking about Love Love): He's funny, he's passionate about the things he's interested in (even though some of them are silly), family relationships are important to him, his family is great (I really love his parents, -they are so sweet. I want in-laws like them one day), he's handsome, I love him for little things like playing password on the sofa (just turn off the damn tv already! Flashy things distract me.), taco night, playing catch in the park (yes, Michael has taught me how to play catch with a mit and ball, and with a football as well), cuddle sessions - he's so snuggleable! Luckily we're still close and will be friends for a long time (Even though I'm still in that stage where i do have the random "I hate Michael Rozzen" outburst, but that's natural).

Anyway, that's my story for the moment. My last class is taking me so long (I think after taking so long the univeristy should just excuse this class and let me graduate!). Work is work - a legalized sweat shop.

Getting sick is never fun to do

I hate soar throats and stuffy noses!!! I don't like the cold weather . . . but I love sweaters.

The Peace Corps

My good friend Anne is leaving for the Peace Corps in a few months. She is anxious to find out where she will be serving - just a couple more days till she finds out! Watching her excitement, and read this book I've been reading - the Kite Runner - some of those amazingly strong altruistic feelings I get have resurfaced. The name of my blog is Save the World cause I really feel like we as individuals need to do more to save our fellow world citizens. So much suffering, unrest, pain, and injustice goes on throughout the world, even in our own communities, we need to step out of our comfortable bubbles, and help each other.

No on proposition 8

If you don't wish your children to learn that acceptance of families consisting of same-gender parents is part of being a good member of society, teach them that in your homes where bigotry and racism are typically taught. As a nation we support equality for all, no matter their race, beliefs, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. These principles of equality should be taught in our public, government-funded institutions.
